Starting point is here …. I have browsed lots of sites for sixteen months before I get in to this.Because I didn’t have money to waist.
And I gathered lot of resources and knowledge.
I’m writing this to give it to you. So you will save 6 months or so.
You can start your site today and earn money tomorrow.

Select a domain
Go for a .com or .net – Users will not remember other extensions
do not use long names
try to use as single word without dash. “-”
check availability

Register a domain
this will cost less than 10$.

select a web hosting partner
Key is maximum up time.
Go for up time guaranteed one.
Do not go to free hosting.

Tips- Always go for linux/Mysql/apache/php web hosting if you don’t know much about anything.
You can go for windows/asp/ only if you are a master of those languages.

Create your first web page
don’t need to know html.

create your own email.
Now you have your own domain,email and web site.

Submit to search engines.

Why so early ,I have only one page?
It doesn’t matter … There are so many web sites which has only one page. But they get huge traffic.Some sites are selling for $10000 in ebay.

When you develop your site , your page will rapidly changing…When you submit your site to search engines , SE crawlers are crawl your site time to time.
If your site content is frequently changing,crawlers visit the site frequently. So your site will get good rank.

Rank – this is the position in search engine that your site has for a given keyword.
eg- if you do affiliate marketing site , when search affiliate marketing in search engine , what is the position that your site get in that search engine.

crawlers – are automated programs that visit sites and collect site detail on be half of search engines.

Google bot – Google search engine
Yahoo slurps – Yahoo search engine
Msn bot – MSN search engine

What is robots.txt ?
This is just a text file that resides your home directory. Anyone can view this like below.
http://yourdomainname.com/robots.txt

Mainly this use to restrict unwanted crawlers.
eg:

Why we stop these bots ? When you get hosting package, most of the times, you will get limited bandwidth for a month. So why do you waist your bandwith for useless bots.

Answer forum questions the area what you have knowledge.Put up a web page on your site about the answer.
Paid traffic. – I will talk later, currently you don’t need to do this since your site doesn’t have any earning ways.

If you have unique content you will get SE traffic and others will put your links on their sites/forums as a references,examples.

unique content about what? anything that you like,anything that you can talk for days.

Eg – music , movies , latest news,about you,about your country put your thoughts about anything you like.

What is the fist earning method ,
if you are a new to this field, do not spend money till you familier this field.
So use PPC ads to earn money .

Register with adsense and they will review your site to verify it is running without under construction pages.
After they approve it just login to adsense backoffice and create ads to suite your site.
You can costomize size and colors of the ad…
after that generate the ad code and past on your pages.

Tips- never click on your own ads , never ask others to do so.

Ok. Now don’t waist time… create atleat a page for a day .Before that you need to think about this.
If you create page a day ..you will have 365 pages at the end of the year .Imagine if you need to
change the background color of every page…
I faced the same issue … what is the solution??
Use dynamic web pages . Use One or few templates. All the content should be saved in a database.
Use mod_rewrite to shaw these dynamic pages as static htmls.
I’ll show you how to do in steps now.

I use for this example php/mysql , but you can use this concept with any other alternative.

You can even use any open source tools for content mgmt …But those are very common and there are so many web sites with the same template.So I prefer my own way.
